Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. While growing up, she listened to classical music as well as the traditional boleros. She also listened to the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana has a passion for opera, tangos and the various forms of dramatic performing. She began her singing and learning music with her mother, and commenced more serious vocal training at the age of 16 with renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. She furthered her training in music in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara in addition to Mexico City, she was an opera singer in numerous chamber and choruses. When she moved in The United States in 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before returning to her new location in southern California. She is a current member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo with traditional Latin American music at private performances. She is passionate about arts, music and performing has her participating with a variety of local initiatives as a teacher and performer. Ana is also a previous part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her singing music from Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly in the younger generations to keep this tradition alive.
